Jenny Lind Chapel

The Party of Four saxophone quartet went on the road to Andover, IL to play for the town's Christmas walk.  Our venue was the tiny, but historic, Jenny Lind Chapel.  As you would expect, the place is very small, with just enough room for four saxists, their horns, and a small audience wandering in and out.  There were also lots of lovely candlelight.

My view for much of the night.
The small but appreciative crowd, in the mostly-dark.  I told you it was all candle-light.

The perfect opportunity to experiment with the "candlelight" setting on my camera.

Party!!

Warming up

Played a birthday bash celebration with the Ken Paulsen Orchestra in Cedar Rapids, IA.  The birthday boy was an 80 year old former band director and musician.

The man of the hour sat in with us.  He also played a few polkas on his accordion!

An impressive house.

Between me and the horn.
Unless you play an instrument, this is a view you probably won't see.

State Fair Round 2

Back at the Illinois State Fair.

Tony Hamilton Orchestra

Pre-dance fun.

Here we are again.  Good crowd!

I see a lot of microphones.  Comes with the job.  This is a condenser mic, ideal for instruments.

This is a very old building...

...but at least it has a disco ball!

Dancin'!

The title of this cha-cha is I Want to Be Happy, but to me, it always looks like: I Want to Cha Be Happy Cha.  It's the little things will amuse a musician...

Things can get a little silly in the pit.
